October is just around the corner and the countdown to the reopening of the ski facilities in Valtellina is about to begin. Are you ready to experience all the magic of snow on the majestic Alpine peaks?
Let's see which are the most popular ski areas for ski enthusiasts!
If you are looking for a quiet holiday of pure family fun, Cima Piazzi Happy Mountain, between Bormio and Livigno, is for you! Ski and snowboard slopes of all levels await you.
Ours is a “Ski on Foot” resort and it’s directly in front of the gondola lift. Just cross the street and you'll be on the ski slopes. But it doesn't end there, because our resort offers services worthy of a real Ski-Resort, so you can find everything you need for a truly unforgettable ski holiday.
Our brand new Ski Room is waiting to provide you with every comfort during your skiing week or weekend on the slopes of Alta Valtellina. Inside you will find practical lockers, accessible with your room badge, in which you can deposit your skis and snow equipment, with the guarantee of finding them the following day always dry and ready for a new adventure, thanks to the efficient heating system. All the comfort, convenience and safety you need for your skiing holiday!
Just a few kilometres from the Nira Mountain Resort, you will also find the Bormio ski resort, with the largest skiable altitude difference in Italy: almost 1.800 metres, with ski lifts reaching over 3.000 metres. Whether you are an expert skier or a novice enthusiast, the slopes of Bormio will definitely satisfy your expectations.
If you love adrenaline, you can swoop down from the highest peaks on the slopes of Bormio 2000 and 3000: breathtaking descents that will make you daydream. A truly unique experience!
If you feel like embarking on an exciting adventure, you can face the world descent Stelvio Slope, which every year hosts the World Cup downhill and will be an official stage of the Winter Olympics in 2026.
Finally, not far from the Nira Mountain Resort is one of the most important ski areas in Italy and Europe: the Livigno Ski Area with its modern and fast ski lifts, more than 115 km of perfectly groomed slopes and descents for all tastes.
Thanks to its special geographical location and favourable climatic conditions, the ski season generally lasts from November until May. For snowboard enthusiasts, the nationally and internationally renowned Mottolino is considered one of the best snow parks in Europe. Carosello 3000, on the other hand, hosts another snow park, “The Beach”, with its tropical setting.
But Livigno is also a freeride paradise and offers numerous areas reserved for off-piste skiing, between immaculate valleys and slopes surrounded by unspoilt nature.
